The University, through many of its online courses, assists students in earning college credits without having to attend on-campus classes. Online courses with UNC are offered semester-wise and semesters commence every summer, spring and fall.

Online learning does not require any class attendance but students, in order to make the most of the online learning opportunity, will be required to communicate with their instructor through email, chat and online discussion forums. Besides this, the students will also have the opportunity to connect with other students.

University of North Carolina's Self-paced Courses

Students will have the opportunity to earn credits from self-paced courses offered through 8 different institutions under the jurisdiction of the University. All courses are supervised by the Friday Center.

These courses are offered online as well as on-campus and anyone can enroll in them. There are absolutely no eligibility requirements. However, students need to remember one thing that they will only have 9 months to complete the course.

Financial Aid with the University of North Carolina is of two types:

Need Based

This is available to students who do not have the require funds to pursue higher education. This is available in the forms of Grants, Scholarships, Federal Work Study and Loans

Non-Need Based

Scholarships and loans are available for meritorious students as well.
