The education system in Nalanda
Nalanda is an ancient university in the state of Bihar and it's site is situated about 55 miles south east of Patna. Nalanda was said to be a Buddhist centre of learning from 427 to 1197 CE.
It is considered as one of the greatest and the oldest universities of the history.
Some parts of the Nalanda university were constructed by the Mauryan emperor, Ashoka the great.
The university occupies an area of 14 hectares and is built completely with red bricks. It attracts the students not only from various regions of India, but from other countries like China, Greece etc. as well.
The town has many government as well as private schools that imparts great teaching skills to it's students. The schools here are affiliated to the CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education), ICSE.
The language that these schools follow is English.
But the town's main attraction has always been it's university that offers various courses like Arts, Commerce, Science etc. to it's students.
There are various medical colleges, engineering institutes, management colleges and others that provide quality education to their students.
There is a great scope of admission for many students in the university, as there are around 45 campuses that has a capacity to enrol 35,000 students every year.
Besides this, the town has great environment and has enough hostel facilities where a student can easily accommodate.
